David Hall Candidate for Forsyth County Superior Court Judge
Winston Salem, NC – David Hall, Assistant Forsyth County District Attorney (DA), has stated that he’s a candidate for Forsyth County Superior Court Judge. The seat is presently held by 32-year incumbent Superior Court Judge Judson D. DeRamus, who recently announced that he will retire after his current term as judge.
David has been employed as an assistant District Attorney (DA) in Forsyth County since 1997. He is a 1990 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law, is presently on the faculty of the law school and he has coached the law school’s National Trial Team. Prior to becoming an assistant District Attorney David practiced civil litigation for six and a half years.
Hall has the foundation, training and experience needed to sustain the highest standards of fairness, judicial competence and the integrity that has been established by Judge DeRamus throughout his tenure as a judge.
As an assistant District Attorney in Forsyth County, David Hall has served as Chief Assistant District Attorney (DA), Habitual Felon Supervisor, a trainer and liaison for SANE (Sexual Assault Nursing Examiner) and is a part of Forsyth county’s newly formed Mental Health Court Program. David Hall at present handles violent felonies, with an emphasis on murder trials.
Hall also part of the faculty for the National Advocacy Center located in Columbia, South Carolina which is affiliated with the National District Attorney’s Association and National Conference of District Attorneys.
David Hall is aware of the high ethical requirements Judge DeRamus established in this district and is also mindful that the courts are supported by, and exist, to serve the people.
Hall has been married for 25 years. Hall’s wife Cindy is a speech pathologist and assistive technology teacher with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system. David and Cindy have two daughters, Leah and Anna.
David grew up in Greensboro, N.C. and was an only child to two legally blind parents. He says that growing up under unusual conditions has given him a view on life that he would like to bring to the bench.
David Hall came to understand a lot from his parents who were people of very little means and compromised physical ability. Hall witnessed the way they struggled to take care of their family and David recognizes the hardships that frequently run below the surface, including those that eventually cause individuals to find themselves before the court system.
